Ballinhassig Camogie History

History of Ballinhassig Camogie Club.
 
Ballinhassig Camogie Club was first founded in 1987 by four local people, Mary Crowley, Marian Fleming, Bernadette O’ Halloran and Frank Lynch. In 1988 Ballinhassig entered 2 teams, Junior B team for the adults and under 14 team for the under age.
1993 Ballinhassig won the Junior B Championship after beating Valley Rovers and went up Junior A. Also we won the under 16B Championship and the under 14B league.                                                                                                                              
2001 Ballinhassig won the Junior A Championship beating Watergrasshill by 5-8 to 4-5. In the same year we won the South East under 11 beating Ballygarvan by 7-8 to 0-0, under 13 beating Ballygarvan by 5-3 to 3-0 and we also won the South East under 15.
2002 Ballinhassig won the under 12A Championship beating Douglas by 2-1 to 1-3. Won the South East under 11 beating Carrigaline by 5-2 to 1-2, won the under 13 beating Ballygarvan 3-2 to 1-2 and the under 15 beating Ballygarvan 1-7 to 0-0.
2005 Ballinhassig won the under 12A Championship beating Glen Rovers by 4-7 to 2-1. We also won the South East under 11/13/15 that year.
2006 Ballinhassig won the South East under 11/13/15.
2007 Ballinhassig won the South East under 13 beating Valley Rovers.
2008 Ballinhassig won the under 18A Championship beating Glen Rovers by 3-8 to 1-6. We won the under 16B Championship beating Courcey Rovers by 3-8 to 0-4 and we won the under 12D Championship beating Sarsfiields by 4-1 to 0-0. We also won the South East under 11 beating Courcey Rovers by 2-0 to 0-0.
2009 Ballinhassig won the South East under 11 beating Valley Rovers.
2010 Ballinhassig won the under 12A County Final by beating Sarfields by 4-4 to 1-3 after a replay. Also on making history as we are the last team that will ever win this competition as it is been replaced with Go Games.
Ballinhassig won the under 11 South East Final beating Ballygarvan by 2-1 to 1-0. Also making history as they are the last team that will ever win this competition as it is been replaced with Go Games.
Ballinhassig won the under 13 South East Final beating Valley Rovers by 8-3 to 0-2.
2011 On January 20th we made history by signing the contract for our own pitch, Present at the signing was John Walsh (Owner) Diarmuid O Shea (Solicitor) Angela Murphy (Chairperson) Mary O Leary (Secretary) Ann Dorney, Marian Mc Carthy, Noleen Coomey, Olan Barry Murphy, Seamus Fleming (Committee Members) 
Ballinhassig won the under 13 South East Final beating Carrigaline by 7-1 to 4-2.
Ballinhassig beat Glen Rovers in the final of the Senior B County final by 0-8 to 0-7. For the first time in the history of the club we will be playing Senior A in 2012. Eimear O Sullivan got player of the match.
